December Favorites!

Sunday, 28 December 2014

Let me ask you just how the hell 2014 is coming to an end? For me 2014 was well an average year, not too jolly I have to say. Let's see how 2015 turns out to be but I seriously hope that it turns out to be a happy year for everyone. On to the favorites now.

Makeup Revolution Blush Shade Hot
Well I am really dissatisfied with the extremely less quantity but I have to keep in mind the price it comes for. But man! The color is the most gorgeous hot pink shade I've ever seen in my life and it suits me a lot. I've been using it extensively because I'm sure I'll repurchase it.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Concealer Shade Natural
It is the perfect pick me up when I'm sporting the "no base" look and it looks really natural when blended. I kind of don't appreciate the matt finish it provides after drying but still I've been using it a lot more than I ever thought off.

Essence Lipstick Shade Rockin Red
A really nice everyday red which can be applied as a stain or straight from the bullet. You can read the review on my blog

Head & Shoulders Anti Hairfall Shampoo
I've been using this shampoo for a very long time and I'm surprised I didn't mention it much on my blog. After using this shampoo, my dandruff is no where visible and my scalp is squeaky clean.

Sisters By Danielle Steele
Non beauty favorite wise I have been loving this book and it is such a nice homely story to read when you are lazing around in bed.

So my lovely readers these were my little favorites and I'll definitely be posting the review of each of these items.

What were your favorites this month?

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blush Loved me the best Review & Swatch

Friday, 26 December 2014

My eyes always fell upon this beautiful red/pink blush and I finally decided to buy it before it got out of stock. Now let's see if it fared well or not!

(Shade no/name
Loved me the best

(Price
I bought it for 550 PKR from an online shopping website  just4girls.pk .

(Claims
No claims. Ingredients are included and it is developed in UK.

(Packaging
It comes in a small 6g black compact with a thick clear plastic lid. The packaging is sturdy and secure. No mirror and no blush brush. The blush is slightly baked.

(Color
The blush is a very pretty red pinkish shade with dark maroon and slight purple veins running through it.

(Texture
It does produce powder when used with a blush on brush but the texture is very silky, smooth and nicely pigmented.

(Scent
No scent. A pro for sensitive noses.

(Finish
It gives a lovely red pinkish color to the cheeks with sheen and when this blush finally settles, the overall look is a healthy pinkish red with dewy cheeks. The brush picks up the right amount to apply and I haven't noticed any substantial fall out. No chalkiness or rough looking appearance.

(Longevity
This blush lasted a good five hours on me and when it vanishes it leaves a subtle pink color with a beautiful glow behind.

(My Thoughts
When this blush first came in my online shopping parcel, I was really disappointed by the small size of the blush. I wish it could have been a little bigger in size so that its beauty would stand out fully. No doubt the overall shade of the blush is amazing and it gives a really pretty color to the cheeks. However, I noticed that it made my complexion look a bit dusky but I'm quite enjoying the bronzed glow it provides. It is a great choice for winters when one loves and cherishes the look of healthy glowy looking cheeks. Overall, I haven't found any major con except the small size but that can be ignored if we take a look at the price it comes for. Its really affordably priced, with great quality and is quite handy for travelling.

(Recommendation
If you are looking for a good budget friendly blush then do buy it.

(Would I Repurchase
Yes

St Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion Review!

Saturday, 20 December 2014

image

When winter comes, dryness follows suit. And to combat dryness, we have our trusted brands that provide great formulas and mine is the St Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion.

Price
I bought it for 495 PKR from Al Fatah.

Claims
Wrap your skin in soothing hydration with St Ives Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Lotion. This formula, with oatmeal and 100% natural moisturizers like vegetable glycerin and rich Shea butter, nourishes and intensely hydrates the skin for immediate relief, while it works to restore your skin back to a healthy appearance. Apply daily to achieve the soft, smooth and healthy look and feel that your skin deserves.
* Formulated without Parabens or Phthalates.
* Does not contain Animal Ingredient.
* Contains 100% Natural Moisturizers(vegetable glycerin, Shea butter, soy bean oil)

Packaging
Comes in a large white bottle with lots of labels and details. The bottle contains an impressive 621ml product and comes with a clear pump. I prefer pumps more than flip flop caps. The bottle is sturdy and does not leak.

Consistency
It is a lovely thick consistency that sinks in quickly and leaves a pretty sheen behind.

Scent
A gorgeous sweet scent that is immensely pleasant and not at all bothering.

My Thoughts
I've been using St Ives Intensive Healing lotion for a long time and this is the first time I switched to Oatmeal & Shea Butter and it is the same great formulation. I'm impressed by the quality and quantity of the lotion which is used by all of my family members and lasts a good two months. The lotion smells great, sinks quickly and a little amount goes a long way. It doesn't make me look dark at the end of the day nor does it make me feel greasy. Me and my family is in love with this lotion especially with the fact that for such an affordable price, this lotion is a great buy and I haven't found anything bad about it. It does fulfill all its claims and makes my skin look young, healthy and plump.

Recommendation
To everyone

Would I Repurchase
Yes

Newly Purchased #2

So recently I've purchased or rather I should say indulged myself in some online shopping. I owned only one makeup item from Makeup Revolution and I lusted after their other amazing products. I'm glad I took the plunge and ordered four products.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Concealer  Shade Natural PKR 300
This concealer comes in 3 shades Fair, Natural and Medium. I chose the shade natural because for some reason medium wasn't available and looked a bit darker in online swatches. Natural goes perfectly with my skin tone and I'm impressed by the quality of this concealer. Keep looking for a review

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked
Blush Shade Loved me the best PKR 550
I have to admit I'm really disappointed by the small size of the blush and it isn't really that pigmented. Otherwise its really good for a naturally flushed glowy finish. A review will be up soon.

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick Shade Dusky PKR 225
What a bargain! A lipstick that is nicely pigmented, has kind of a balmy texture, gives a great color pay off and is incredible for everyday wear. However it may not suit dusky complexions. Keep your eyes peeled for a review.

Makeup Revolution Blush shade Hot PKR 225
Thoroughly disappointed with the almost non existent quantity. Its very pigmented and the color pay off is awesome. Keep your eyes glued for a review.

So these were my rather small purchases but I'm glad I bought them.

November Favorites!

Friday, 12 December 2014

God! It's December already and November felt like it just zoomed away. However this month has definitely been my favorite because I had attended some awesome parties and conducted fun events as well. November has been extremely busy, tiresome but enjoyable. However let's move on to the favorites.

St Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body
Lotion
I have been using St Ives Lotions for a long time but this is the first time I bought Oatmeal & Shea Butter and previously only used Intensive Healing. This smells gorgeous, great formula like Intensive Healing one and doesn't leave me greasy at all. Stay tuned for a review.

Color Studio Professional Blush 104 Havana
My favorites would be incomplete without including this gem. First I'm vastly impressed by the generous quantity. The color is amazing for this winter weather and just a little sweep of this blusher adds life (yeah life) to my cheeks. You can read the review of this blush here .

Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion
The appreciable thing about this product is that it can be used as a cleanser or a toner. And MAN! It does a bloody good job of cleaning away the dirt and makeup on my face. Toning wise its awesome as my skin almost looks poreless and fresh after using it. I pour it on to a cotton pad and remove all the impurities. Love it. Keep looking for a review on this sooner.

Jordana Lipstick
Absolutely hate the clumsy packaging of this product but the color pay off is amazing. A berry shade that looks very scary in the bullet but when I apply it, its the most flattering shade I've ever seen. The finish has a lovely sheen and a hint of berry to it. Saddened and shame faced as I say this that the shade no has vanished of this beautiful lipstick so there won't be any review on it.

The Undomestic Goddess By Sophie Kinsella
I love this book as it's the perfect blend for a girl to read. I've been reading it again and again in November and it's obviously my favorite book.

I'm thinking of starting a series in which I would show you purchases of things I buy randomly or monthly. Be it one product purchase or a haul. I would include it in my purchases series.

I purchased all of these things from Al Fatah which I'm going to mention below and would include the prices as well.

St Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion PKR 495
I love, love, love St Ives lotions. They smell nice, sink in quickly and leave me moisturized and not at all greasy. Stay tuned for a review.

St Ives Apricot Scrub PKR 475
I've heard none other than praises about this scrub and its been on my wishlist for ages. I'm glad I finally bought it. Keep your eyes peeled for a review.

Harmony Soaps PKR 45
Finally I've managed to find soaps that are very reasonably priced, smell yummy as they come in fruity scents( strawberry and mango scent is my favorite) and don't leave me dry like a wrung towel. They lather beautifully and is a joy to use. Must have soaps and I'm surely going to  buy them for a long, long time.

Gift Box PKR 290
I definitely needed some storage item to store my slowly increasing makeup collection. And I think wooden gift boxes are a great way to store makeup. Its pretty to look at, doesn't budge while traveling and keeps the makeup items protected. These boxes are available at any local gift shop for very cheap prices.

Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion PKR 295
I've been purchasing this cleanser for ages and really like the way it makes my skin clean, fresh and poreless. Keep looking for a review sooner.

Colgate Max Fresh Toothpastes PKR 105 each
My most trusted toothpastes.

Head & Shoulders Anti Hairfall Shampoo PKR 335
A really good shampoo. I've been buying this for like forever because I haven't found anything better than this.

These were my purchases. Happy reading everyone :)

Can't Resist The Temptation!

Sunday, 7 December 2014

image

I wonder how many girls are there who think like me. Probably many or perhaps I'm the only weird one here.

Whenever I browse around the beauty counters, I just can't control the temptation to swatch a product, ohh and ahh at the heaps of makeup immaculately lined infront of me and I snatch the product to home with me. There is always an excuse to pop something new into my shopping bag. But whenever I come home with that particular new thing, I can't help but ponder over it that I just wasted my money on what? Foundation! Chemical in a bottle we lust after to blend into our faces!

But you know what, just like any other makeup lover, I can't resist the temptation. Owning that new makeup item is a source of happiness for me, joy that comes from within, not that is made up.

My guilt is uncontrollable whenever I think of buying a new makeup item because that's a fact that I have enough makeup for everyday use and for an upcoming special occasion. Why buy more? is the question in my boggling mind. Because the truth is I love makeup, I can purchase food for myself or pretty clothes and shoes to add something new into my closet. But my heart always takes centre stage and that is to buy makeup, nothing but more makeup will make me happy inside and out. And happiness is the best health of all.

How many of you feel the same way?
