My Top 5 Makeup Revolution Products!

Friday, 30 January 2015

I own only about 7 Makeup Revolution products and still I'm thinking of buying more because let's face it, their products are incredibly low priced and the product itself is of a great value. Today I'm going to list my top five Makeup Revolution products that I think are worth mentioning.

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette "Flawless"
I've had this palette for a month now and I'm in love. The shade range is great, the pigmentation is awesome and the shades are easily blendable. They don't feel rough or powdery in any sort of way. For such an affordable price, I think it is a really good purchase. Check my review here

Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 1 Eyeshadow Palette
Famously known as the best dupe of Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. I don't own any Naked palettes so can't make any claims. However seeing the comparisons online, the iconic 1 does look very similar to that of Naked 1. For the pricing of this palette, you can't really ignore it. Awesome neutral shades, good pigmentation and an array of looks can be achieved with this palette. Check my review here

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts "Candy Queen Of Hearts"
This blush has gorgeous packaging and I can't get enough of it. The formulation is the best I've tried so far from Makeup Revolution. It isn't powdery but is very smooth and buttery. I just wish it was more pigmented to better suit my wheatish complexion. Check my review here

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blush "Loved Me The Best"
This blush is very pretty especially the maroon veins running through it. I've been wearing it like forever and I'm impressed how glowy and healthy it makes my cheeks appear. Check my review here

Makeup Revolution Blush "Hot"
The pink shade of this blush is stunning and is the first ever pink that has complemented my skin tone immensely. I wish it came with a bigger quantity so I didn't have to be cautious while using it. Check my review here

So this was my roundup of my best Makeup Revolution products. I hope you liked this post. If you own any of these items then let me know your thoughts below:)

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette "Flawless" Review & Swatches!

Wednesday, 28 January 2015

Hello Everyone,
This post is going to be short and straight forward because its very picture heavy. Let's see my review below.

Flawless. A palette of neutral shades ranging from mattes, shimmers and pearls.

I bought it for 1500 PKR from an online shopping website

None. Only ingredients, shade names and other details are mentioned.

This palette comes in a beautiful rose gold cardboard box with the name "Flawless" embossed on it and the backside gives the image of the shades that are contained inside. When you open the box, you are met with a black palette that is sleek and sturdy. The palette houses 32 shades and a large mirror which comes very handy. Also the shades are covered with a clear sheet with shade names written on it.

The shimmer and pearl shades are intensely pigmented whereas the mattes lack a bit in pigmentation.

All shades are smooth and buttery with very less fallout. However, the mattes were more prone to fallout than the shimmer ones. All shades apply nicely and are super blendable.

They stayed for 3 to 4 hours and does crease badly on my super oily eyelids. But I think a good primer will solve these issues.

My Thoughts
This palette comes with no applicator and I wouldn't fancy having one especially a sponge one. The shades are very pigmented which I doubted at first but after owning this palette, I'm extremely pleased with the shades. The palette is a neutral lover's dream as one can create so many looks with this palette. This palette feels more expensive than it actually comes for, be its packaging or its eye shadows. The longevity and creasing is a bit of a disappointment but that can be ignored if we have a look at the price tag. Overall I would say I love this palette especially the romantic shades and their names it comes with. My personal favourite shades in this palette are "gold digger" and "golden night". Also I'm not paid or sponsored by Makeup Revolution to do this review. This palette is my own and my review is an honest opinion of mine regarding this palette.

To everyone

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts Blusher "Candy Queen Of Hearts" Review & Swatch!

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

Wow, what a mouthful my title is. Let's just take a look to admire the beauty of this blush. Now don't get me wrong, it isn't just pretty but very impressive in quality as well and also famously known as dupes of the Too Faced Sweetheart blushes.

"Candy Queen Of Hearts". A three striped blusher that contains a light blue toned pink, a light peach shade and a little more intense coral shade.

I bought it for 850 PKR from an online shopping website

None. Only ingredients and other details are mentioned.

This blush comes in a pink cardboard box which when we open contains a 10g heart shaped blush in a gold heart shaped packaging with a cardboard made lid on it. No doubt the packaging is lovely but I'm not a fan of cardboard type packaging. The blush is very lightweight to carry but I wouldn't recommend it for travelling as I think it isn't that sturdy.

The blush is oh so soft to touch, apply and swatch. I haven't noticed any fall out. However the pigmention is not up to the mark as I have to apply the blush several times to get most of the color.

It stayed upto 3 to 4 hours on me approximately which is fine by me.

Even though this blush doesn't pack a punch in pigmentation but I'm loving the natural glowy finish it provides. It gives shimmer and a beautiful glow to the cheeks without being overpowering.

My Thoughts
I have three words for this blush I Love It. I know the pigmentation is poor but the natural finish it gives makes me look so young and pretty. This is a perfect everyday blush for pale and wheatish complexioned gals, however, the dark beauties should go for the other shade in this range "blushing heart". The longevity is average but as I don't wear blush too often, it is fine by me. The price is a bit higher than other Makeup Revolution products but its worth every penny. The reason I bought this "Candy queen of hearts" shade because it contained two peachy/coral shades which I adore. Also this blush comes with a very generous quantity and a sizable appearance which I always look forward to in blushers. Overall I would say this is a really good, affordable and amazing quality blush which girls should buy.

Yes to all pale girls out there. The dusky beauties should definitely check out the other shade "blushing heart".

Would I Repurchase
Yes and I will also buy the shade "blushing heart" which is more pigmented and will be more visible on me.

I hope you liked my review. Do you own this blush? What are your thoughts?

Food #3 Potato & Chicken Croquettes!

Tuesday, 20 January 2015

Hello everyone,
I'm here again with another food recipe. My mother and I both made these Chicken and Potato Croquettes and thinking of them makes my mouth water. I followed a recipe from a magazine and I'm going to write the same recipe for you below.

1. 4tbsp butter
2. 1tsp garlic powder
3. Salt (to taste)
4. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
5. 3 large potatoes
6. 2 cups chicken (boiled)
7. 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
8. 1 bunch parsley (chopped)
9. 1/2 cup cheese (grated)
10. 1 egg
11. 1/2 cup flour
12. 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
13. Oil (for frying)

Take a saucepan and boil water in it. Then add salt, potatoes and cook until the potatoes become tender. Then drain them and transfer into a large bowl. Peel potatoes and add 4tbsp butter in it. Now mash them properly. Add garlic powder and all the other spices and mix well. Then add boiled chicken and finely chopped parsley with cheese. Mash all the ingredients together again with the potatoes. When the mixture becomes cold add one beaten egg in it. Now make small croquettes with the mixture and coat them with breadcrumbs. In a wok, deep fry them in pre heated oil, until they turn golden brown in color. Serve hot with red sauce.

So I hope you enjoyed the recipe and will make croquettes for yourselves, they are delicious.

My Wishlist #1

Saturday, 17 January 2015

Wishlists are something that I really enjoy looking at and today I decided to make one of my own. So let's have a look at what I am currently coveting.

1. Bh Cosmetics Eco Friendly 10 Piece Brush Set.
I always overlooked the importance of makeup brushes and believe me I don't own a single good quality brush. But now after getting into this makeup blogging thing(y) I've come to know that brushes come very handy. I want to purchase this Bh Cosmetics brush set because it's affordable and nice quality.

2. Rimmel Intense Color Rush Balms.
I swatched these lip crayons in the shop and they're BLOODY AMAZING. They felt so buttery to apply and were intensely pigmented. I'm highly coveting these and want to buy the shade " The Redder The Better" or "On Fire".

3. Rimmel New Matte Apocalips Lip Velvets.
Another Rimmel product, these are the matte versions of their original Apocalips. I also swatched these matte ones in the store and I'm in love with their color, even if they are too bold for me and I highly appreciate their matte formula. The shade I want to purchase is "Atomic Rose" because it's a very soft coral color that is the only shade I found less daunting.

4. St Ives Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Body Lotion.
I had already bought the Coconut & Shea Butter body lotion. However, I want to try this one now because it smells amazing when I sniffed it in the shop.

5. Any Book By Sophie Kinsella.
As I mentioned on my blog quite a few times that Sophie Kinsella is my favorite author and I haven't read all of her books which I'm really looking forward to do. Her books are a perfect blend for a girl to read.

So these were the items I'm really looking forward to buy and I hope you liked my Wishlist. Your choices will be highly appreciated down in the comments section:)

Newly Purchased #3!

Thursday, 15 January 2015

Hello Readers,
I hope you all are having a great day. I think everybody knows about the makeup brand Makeup Revolution who are coming up with awesome products especially with dupes of big famous high end companies like Urban Decay, Too Faced, etc. I was enchanted by some of their products and decided to buy them. I bought all of these items from an online shopping website

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts "Candy Queen Of Hearts. PKR 850
Now the packaging of this product was something new and absolutely beautiful for me. I had to buy it when I saw this gorgeous heart shaped blush. A review will be up soon.

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette "Flawless" 1500 PKR
This palette as the name suggests is flawless and I'm completely entranced by the variety and quality of shades in this palette. Keep looking for a review soon.

Makeup Revolution Blush "Hot" Review & Swatch!

Monday, 12 January 2015

I could have bought shade "sugar" or "treat". However the shade named "Hot" really appealed to me and the fact that it's the most gorgeous pink color I've come across in my life, that's sayin' something.

Hot. A flattering warm pink shade.

I bought it for 225 PKR from an online shopping website

None. Ingredients and other details are mentioned.

It comes in a plastic black 3.4g container with a clear lid. The packaging is simple and not at all sturdy as the lid comes off easily.

No doubt the quantity is not even worth mentioning but the blush is so intensely pigmented that a little amount is needed for the cheeks and the color is very buildable.

The blush is soft to touch, doesn't feel gritty while applying or swatching but yeah I've noticed considerable fall out which makes the pan quite dirty.

It stayed upto 5 hours which is very impressive lasting power in my opinion.

Now it's all up to you if you want to create soft natural looking cheeks or want to go for a more clownish effect "LOL", because both of these looks can be easily achieved with this blush.

My Thoughts
This tiny blush is somewhat of a gem in my collection. This is the first shade of matte pink blush that has suited me immensely and has been my everyday go to blush since the day it arrived. It's dirt cheap, leaves cheeks looking smooth and defined, also doesn't feel like a cheap powdery blush while using. The longevity power is great and the pigmentation is oh la la. However I wish Makeup Revolution could have provided more quantity or simply should have launched a bigger blush in this exact shade. I'm really pleased by this blush and would ignore the cons considering the price. Overall I think this is a good blush for everyday wear and in my opinion would really complement fair toned gals.

Buy it, because it's nice and cheap.

Would I Repurchase

Do you own this blush? What do you think about it?

Swatch with and without editing!

Makeup Revolution Lipstick "Dusky" Review & Swatch!

Saturday, 10 January 2015

I was on the verge of ordering "Mystify" but thought that it will be too orange(y) for me and settled for this Makeup Revolution Lipstick in "Dusky". Read my opinion below.

Dusky. A lovely tea pink color.

I bought it for 225 PKR from an online shopping website

This lipstick comes in a black bullet with a black cap which contains a sample of the lipstick attached to it. This little color addition looks nice, makes the lipstick easy to spot and gives an opinion of what the shade would be like. However the packaging is certainly not travel friendly because the cap comes off easily without "touching" and rattles as well.

A very light floral scent that is hardly going to irritate you and is undetectable upon application.

This lipstick has a balmy formula that is moisturizing. However it has to be swiped several times to coat the lips properly.

Very poor lasting power, only for 1 hour and while eating/drinking it totally vanishes.

My Thoughts
I don't know if it's just me or this Makeup Revolution lipstick swatches differently on my hand and on my lips it is a very light pink shade with blue undertones. The lipstick applies smoothly but you do have to reapply several times to get the most of the color. On my lips it looks like a balm and for me it is a good everyday wear lipstick. It also gives a pearly nude effect, I hope my description makes sense. I know the longevity power sucks and don't even think that it will withstand meals but still for such a cheap price tag I'm ready to ignore the cons. The lipstick does settle into fine lines, transfers but sure it gives me a pout that is so hard to create with a lip liner without smudging it all over your face. Overall I would say this is a decent everyday lipstick for those who prefer a "my lips but better" result.

To those who are on a budget and have a soft spot for moisturizing blue toned pinks.

Would I Repurchase
Maybe in a different shade because you can't beat the pricing of this product.

Do you own this lipstick? What are your thoughts?

Makeup Revolution Liquid Concealer Review & Swatches!

Thursday, 8 January 2015

Hello Lovely Readers,
Today I'm going to review the Makeup Revolution Liquid Concealer. Let's see what I felt about this concealer.

It comes in 3 shades such as Fair, Natural and Medium whereas I got the Natural one.

I bought it for 300 PKR from an online shopping website .

Only ingredients are mentioned.

It comes in a 1.9ml clear container with a sponge tip applicator attached to a black cap. The packaging is simple, sturdy and I like sponge applicators as they're more appropriate for applying concealer than pots or brushes.

It has a thick texture that is easily blendable but you have to work with quick fingers as it dries fast.

It stays for a good 6 hours on me after that you can notice it fading.

My Thoughts
This concealer leans more towards yellow so the color and undertone is a good match for me but not perfect. I have to be really quick while blending it into my under eye circles as it dries pretty fast. The concealer dries to a matt finish which I don't appreciate because I already have dry skin and prefer illuminating concealers. I like the 1.9ml quantity as my Essence Stay Natural Concealer was only 1.5ml twist container. Once blended the concealer looks a little ashy but then settles nicely into my skin tone. It doesn't crease and does not settle into fine lines. I feel that it makes my undereye area seem matte and drying. It isn't moisturizing and feels a little heavy on the skin. For me it is a pretty average concealer and I wish it was available in more shades. Overall I would say it is a decent concealer for the very cheap price it comes in and once applied it looks natural and is good for hiding light undereye circles but is ineffective for scars, blemishes and acne. However don't layer it too much because it can look cakey.

For those who are on a budget and want a light matte coverage.

Would I Repurchase
Maybe because I think it will be fine in summers.
