Review // L'OREAL 6 OIL NOURISH Extraordinary OIL

By Chaste & Beautiful - Tuesday, March 01, 2016

Hiya,

Dry hair and skin is indeed a big issue for me and finding the right product that can tame my parched frizzy tresses is no joke. I’ve always loved hair care products, maybe because I don’t consider my hair to be gorgeously lovely like my mother’s and that is enough to dishearten me. The matter at hand in the beginning was actually my mother, as she has never faced any hair problems and is a strictly against hair care products. So, it took a while for her to comprehend my genuine pleas. Anyway after reading much about hair care and then receiving the consent of my mother too, I actually started investing in conditioners.

Still, nothing sufficiently worked well for me, even the strongest conditioners failed and then I purchased this L'OREAL 6 OIL NOURISH Extraordinary OIL, which is a type of leave-in conditioner or hair serum, applied after shampooing. It does calm down my frizz, however my brother uses it more than I do and I keep a regular check on the product left inside. WOW! Alright that was stinginess; now let’s head to the review.

Full Name and Price

L'OREAL 6 OIL NOURISH Extraordinary OIL, bought from Al-Fatah. You can buy this from just4girls.pk for PKR 699. Click here

Packaging

It is a beautiful golden glass bottle with a golden cap and transparent liquid inside. Though, at first it was hard to judge what was golden, the liquid or the bottle. The bottle has to be carefully handled as it is glass, wish it was a plastic one, no big concern BTW. When you remove the cap, there’s a plastic stopper that has a tiny opening to let the liquid pass through it. It is easy to manage and lovely looking too.

Formula/Texture

The texture is very light weight and subtly greasy, but nothing overwhelming. Even the scent it has is pleasant and faint. The watery substance is really nice for conditioning the hair and the 100ml goes a long way.

Claims by the Company

6 oil formula for 6 benefits: Strong, Smooth, Shiny, Soft, Thick, and Manageable.
Hmmm… L’OREAL claims it is so nourishing, it makes hair look healthy and beautiful with a spectacular shine with every use. Apply on hair and scalp and gently massage before washing off. Can also be applied as a finishing touch, (which I do).

My Thoughts

I love this product as it has been able to deliver. The light scent is good, texture is fine and the application is fairly simple. After washing my hair, I apply it only on the strands, nothing in the scalp and then blow-dry my hair. One has to take only a few drops to get that gloss and shine L’OREAL talks about, more product does tend to make hair slicker than you desire it to be. It is great for styling hair and tends to make the hair look healthy and kink free.

I found this best used, if you blow-dry or straighten your hair after its application. This way there’ll be no greasy residue left behind and the hair still looks naturally glistening. I bought it 2 months ago and still merely a quarter of the oil has been used. Remember, it is not like other ordinary oils, it is more of a conditioner. My only regret is the approaching summer when I know it is not going to work for me and if you are aware of Pakistani heat, you’ll know what it implies. Perhaps I’ll try a water-based formula for summer even that seems unimaginable in that sizzling heat.

Recommendation

A very fine hair product to capitalize in, every person must give it a go, especially if you have dry hair.

Would I Repurchase?

Yes, for sure. I have gotten used to it so much now that my mother also probes me if I have applied it or not. My hair agrees with this leave-in for sure.

Have you tried this hair serum, What’s your say?

  14. Sounds pretty good! That said, I just don't really use a lot of hair products. I shampoo, I condition, and that's about it. I feel that the more I do the more my hair gets weighed down.

  15. I think if my hair was a bit more on the dry or damaged side then I would love this, but unfortunately my hair tends to always lean on the oily side!

  17. This seems nice, but L'oreal's hair products just don't suit me, Although, I love its facewash. And yes, you are absolutely right about oiling in summer, it's like sitting on a hot oven.

  19. OMG! where did you get this from? seems a great buy! But, do not worry, leave ins are mostly oil based and this will work in the summers too, as they are only supposed to replenish the lost moisture.
