Guest Post: Summer Vacation Guide: Style & Makeup Ideas
By Chaste & Beautiful - Thursday, April 21, 2016
No
matter whether you are planning on a summer vacation somewhere exotic, or maybe
a road trip with your best friends – you should know that there is an optimal
amount of clothes and other necessities you need to bring. Here is a useful
guide on how to avoid rookie mistakes and pack with style, so check out our
tips and plan on your next vacation carelessly.
Plan
out everything in Advance
If you plan on a stylish vacation,
this certainly doesn’t mean that you have to pack a pile of unnecessary clothes
just in case. On the contrary, travelling like a pro means that you are able to
avoid over-packing, which is essential for many reasons – the first one is
definitely saving lots of dollars on an airport taxes. Besides that, if you are
staying 10 days, you certainly don’t need 10 different shirts – after all, you
will spend most of your trip in a bikini, right? Basics are crucial in this
case – a pair of jeans, maxi dress, T-shirts with different prints, denim
shorts, sunglasses, maxi hat, gladiator sandals, and fabulous high heels – that
is pretty much it. Just don’t forget a clean pair of socks and underwear for
every day.
Should
I Roll or Should I Fold
Stuffing
the essentials in your suitcase is when the real struggle begins; however, it
doesn’t have to be as stressful as it always gets. There are two ways of
getting this done – rolling and folding. Rolled clothes will
inevitably take up much less space, but they will wrinkle if you store them
inappropriately. On the other hand, folded clothes will take up more space, but
are less likely to wrinkle. In fact, you can use both of these techniques –
rolling for tougher materials, such as wool and cotton, and folding for delicate
items, such as collared shirts.
What about Makeup?
When
it comes to your makeup, it is always a good idea to compartmentalize your
collection by dividing it into different categories – blush, eye shadows, lip
products – and grouping them up into separate Ziploc bags. This will also solve
the problem of leaking in transit. As for your powders, you can prevent them
from shattering by placing them in a plastic bag together with makeup sponges.
The puff which comes with your pressed powder can be a true lifesaver, even if
you don’t use it – it will absorb the shock of your suitcase being tossed in
the plane, that’s for sure! Also don’t forget about all those beauty products
that will help you maintain your summer skin glow!
Don’t
Forget the Jewelry
We
cannot imagine a stylish vacation without the jewelry, so make sure that you
have brought interesting pieces that will make a true fashion statement even in
casual outfits. Just store them properly in order to prevent
knotting, tangling, or even losing them somewhere among other things in your
suitcase. Fasten your earrings through buttonholes before packing – you will
keep track of them much easier this way. When it comes to necklaces, you can
string them through a straw, which will prevent the chain from tangling.
Start Packing
Everyone
knows that a high-quality suitcase is required when talking about summer
vacation, and fashionistas always give advantage to high
quality leather goods, which are true symbols of timeless style.
Grab yours and start packing! First come the shoes – stuff them with socks and
place at the bottom of the suitcase. Then add heavy rolled items, and add
fragile pieces on the top of them. Light rolled items go next, and then folded
ones. Toiletry bag concludes your packing.
As
you can see, travelling with style can be a piece of cake – just make sure that
you are following these simple rules that will make you pack like a pro.
Needless to say, it is not about the quantity of clothes you will bring, but
about their versatility. As soon as you master this, you’ll be good to go!

DeleteI really liked Peter's article written on Saadiah's blog. This one is very useful too. All the tips are very helpful. I just didn't get the idea of high heels! Won't they be troublesome? Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I read that one too and I liked it a lot as well. Yes, these tips are indeed very helpful. Well, about high heels it actually depends on the person, if they feel comfortable with it, then that's okay with them. Thanks for stopping by. :)

DeleteVery helpful post. I really liked the idea of using makeup puff to protect makeup from damage/shocks in the plane. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, makeup puff really helps in such situations. Thanks for stopping by. :) <3
DeleteThese are seriously great tips and we use both roll and fold techniques for our clothes. Good idea on keeping makeup in ziplock bags, why didn't I ever think of that.

ReplyDeleteI think planning everything in advance is so important, I started doing that a couple of years ago and it makes such a difference! Instead of wearing the same things over and over I actually had some choices for what to wear.
