My Birthday! Alas I'm out of Teens!

By Chaste & Beautiful - Friday, March 25, 2016

Hiya,

So, girls it was my birthday on 24th March and sadly I’ve to update you that now officially I’ve left my teens. This growing up part really bothers me because I hate growing up, perhaps because I am scared of embracing responsibilities. However this grief has nothing to do with the celebration of birthdays and I love receiving presents, rather, that’s the best part and then it is worthy to not let fear overshadow your stance.

I believe I must take inspiration from this quote: “As long as I am breathing, in my eyes, I am just beginning.”

A Typical Birthday in my House

We don’t celebrate birthdays in the traditional way, just a good meal with cake is enough. My brother is even against that, since according to him birthdays remind you of losing one more year of your life and there’s no merriment in them. To be realistic, I agree with him but still I guess I’m the baby in the family so, I do expect some cheerfulness from my family and friends.

“I grabbed a pile of dust, and holding it up, foolishly asked for as many birthdays as the grains of dust, I forgot to ask that they be years of youth.” Ovid, Metamorphoses

The Best Anticipations of a Birthday

Talking about this year’s birthday, I remember the cakes were too good and I loved the presents I got. However, the most beautiful present was from my brother or shall I say it was more of a self-present, as I bought Samsung J7, but it was actually my brother who purchased it and I strictly told him not to open the packaging.

“The joy unpacking delivers, should be mine alone.” Chaste & Beautiful

Then my mom bought me shoes, lawn suits, ColorPop, Wet n Wild Highlighter, a few books and Rimmel Lippies. The whole affair was pretty normal as any other normal day but the warm greetings I received from my kinfolk and acquaintances really lifted my spirits. I can fairly recall my childhood, when we were kids and the whole family spent the entire day in packing gifts and preparing assortments. Ah. Those gone days!

“The year you were born marks only your entry into the world. Other years where you prove your worth, they are the ones worth celebrating.” Jarod Kintz in This Book Title is Invisible.

The Special Segment

This year, my birthday became more glamorous, courtesy of Sheer Class Accessories. I joined this jewelry brand co-owned by Saadiah Khawaja, also a bblogger and now a very close friend. Her blog is ‘Beauty Talk with Saadiah,’ and you’ll for sure gain a lot of info from her posts. She also sent me a birthday gift, a fancy watch. You can see the stunning watch in the picture along with other jewelry pieces I bought from her. I also made 2 videos of these jewelry items that you must watch here.

Before Signing off

I’ll be reviewing these items for you gradually and share with you everything in detail. This year’s birthday was special as always, and I hope birthdays remain special for everyone. We need to grab the little joys whenever we get the chance to. Meanwhile, let me console myself with this saying:

“The invention of the teenager was a mistake. Once you identify a period of life in which people get to stay out late but don't have to pay taxes - naturally, no one wants to live any other way.” Judith Martin

  1. Happy birthday once again dear Aysha. You have got really cool stuff from your mom. Whether you celebrate your birthday or not but the feeling that it gives you "that it is only your day" is awsome.

  7. That brought tears to my eyes. U are an Angel cz your soul is so pure. But everyone does not have the time or the eye to see that. Stop looking for approval from others. Love yourself and those who do love u. Hold a guiding hand if extended.... these quotes are beautiful n true, but all those who wrote them must have gone through Hell to be able to get that insight. I never quote Great People, not because I don't admire them or over rate myself. I quote myself because, I believe, I can make someone realize somehow that it is important to be in touch with the Hero within you. And if Allah has been kind enough not to be able to make you emote genuine lines, you have all the more reason to thank Him, develop faith in yourself & be Positive :) Have a great life ahead!
