Review // Ponds BB Cream!

By Chaste & Beautiful - Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Hello People

I’m here again with the review of Ponds BB cream. I’m still too lazy to come up with the best beauty products 2015 posts right now because quite frankly, I’m pretty busy. However, I will try to be regular with my blog posts.

My previous post about the Bell Cosmetics lipstick was very well received by you folks and I hope the Ponds BB cream sounds good to you too.

Full Name

Pond’s White Beauty BB+ All-in-One Fairness Cream

Price

You can buy this online for PKR 395 from just4girls.pk. It is also available in local departmental stores as well. Buy here.

Packaging

It comes in a pink cardboard packaging. The BB cream comes in a 50g white tube with a silver metallic cap.  The BB is travel-friendly and does not leak. I will request you to not squeeze the tube tightly when dispensing the product as you’ll get a bigger blob than what you are aiming for.  All ingredients and claims are mentioned on the box as well as the tube too.

Texture

Well, the texture is quite thick and takes time blending. I think the consistency is thick because it includes SPF 30.

Scent

Pleasant but annoyingly strong, even after amalgamating it into my skin, I can smell the lingering floral fragrance.

Longevity

It’s pretty great and stays fresh for 7 to 8 hours. After that the BB seems to get a bit faded but thankfully, does not give the skin a darkened or graying look afterwards. The more it gets settled, the more beautiful it looks.

My Thoughts

The first time I tried this BB cream, I was a bit disappointed with its tackiness, thickness and too potent scent. However, after reading that it contains SPF 30, all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. It has the typical ponds Gem White advertising stance and yes, it does make the skin look fairer. The first time you will blend it into the skin, there will be an obvious whitish cast visible but after 1 to 2 hours, your skin will start to look natural and lovely. It surprisingly has good medium coverage than what a BB cream promises. Ponds BB cream comes in only one shade that leans more towards a yellow undertone. I myself have a yellow undertone and the BB pleasantly compliments my skin tone, but there should be more shades available. Overall, I will say that this BB cream is loads better than the Garnier BB cream I tried. It is good for every day wear, provides protection against sun exposure and does not emphasize any dry areas of my face. My rating will be 4/5 for this product.

Recommendation

College or University students looking for a budget friendly light base should definitely give this a go.

Would I Repurchase?

No, firstly this one is going to last a good time and I am more into buying a CC cream now.

What are your thoughts on this Ponds BB cream?

  2. I enjoyed reading your review on this Pond product! I have never seen product but I won't try it due to the "white residue"..sorry that is a deal breaker for my medium/golden/tan skin tone!

    1. Yes, this is most probably the new version because the previous one was only 18g and this one is 50g. Also, the previous one had an oblong cap plus the nozzle was a wee bit smaller. Thanks for stopping by Gul! :)

  7. I usually like Pond's products quite a lot, just wish they didn't put so much fragrance in them.

  11. I like to use BB cream during Summer, because it's normally lightweight and it has SPF. Ponds products are not widely available in UK though. x

    1. I totally go for a bare face in summers, just can't stand anything on my face in the deplorable heat. I use BB's in Winters. Too bad Pond's isn't widely available in your area. It certainly is a cult brand. Thanks for stopping by. :)

    1. No, I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin because it gets oily on my dry complexion after one hour plus it is very thick in consistency. I would rather recommend you to go for something lightweight and not too heavy for your skin. I hope my answer comes handy for you. Thanks for stopping by. :)
