Review // Wet n Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Color!
By Chaste & Beautiful - Saturday, January 30, 2016
I
am valiantly trying to build up my lipstick collection because it’s even too
small for words. I have always been a huge fan of lip products and base
products. I am really into buying foundations but rarely use them on my face.
Nothing looks as good on me as a lipstick. When I saw the swatches of this Wet n Wild lipstick online, I was immediately attracted to its smoky, rosy appearance. However, the reality had something else in store for me, looking at the fact that Wet n Wild lipsticks have been hugely raved about in the cyberspace.
Price
I
bought this from daraz.pk for PKR 495.
Full Name/shade
Wet
n Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Color “Wine Room”
Packaging
I
must say that the packaging is quite pathetic. I mean why they created that
long, cylindrical cap which never closes on the bullet without mushing the lipstick
in the process. I am clearly appalled with the quality of the packaging. I know
the price is too cheap for good hopes but still….!!!
Shade Description
I
was daydreaming about a rosy shade with a brown hue to it which is what the
color appeared in online swatches. On the contrary, the shade runs in typical
red/pinkish or should I say magenta-like sector which I am not a big fan off.
Longevity
The
lipstick does stay a long time and also doesn’t depart from my lips without
leaving a deep stain. Yes, I like the staying power which stands rigid through
oily meals very well.
Formula/texture
The
texture is too matte, it almost tugged badly the first time I used it on my
lips and it doesn’t glide on smoothly. Then, I started using lip balm before
applying this lipstick and the experience is much better. Though, the lipstick
feels heavy and waxy on my lips. Maybe, I am not a fan of drying matte
lipsticks which this lipstick certainly is.
Scent
Yes,
it does have a mild scent to it but nothing overpowering.
My Thoughts
I
was expecting big stakes from this lipstick but no, this lipstick is totally not
me. I don’t feel comfortable wearing it and even with a lip balm; it does tend
to fit into my lip lines. It is good for lightly staining the lips for a
healthy appearance but I don’t like to use it more than that. I am not trying
to trash the good reviews of these Wet n Wild lipsticks. If you like true matte
lip color formulas go ahead buy them. I feel quite disappointed that such a
hyped product didn’t work for me and I may even try more shades to get the feel
of this product. Still, for the price the color range is good and has been
claimed to compete with Mac lipsticks. I don’t own a Mac lipstick, so can’t
compare. I would give 3/5 to this lipstick which is fair in my opinion because
of its good staying power and amazing pigmentation.
Recommendation
If
you have no qualms about wearing a true matte lipstick which leans on the dry
side and never leaves the lips without tinting them, you can try it.
Would I Repurchase?
No,
I won’t buy this shade again but I would like to buy “Rosebud,” “In the Flesh”
and “Just Peachy” from this collection.
Have you tried the Wet n Wild Mega
Last Lipstick, What’s your say?

DeleteI haven't tried Wet n Wild lipsticks because there are too many "misses" with the quality of the lipstick...these are Dirt Cheap at local Drugstore and Dollar stores! But I do love that shade but I can't get matte which is too drying for my lips! :)

Deleteyes I HAVE TRIED THEM BUT THEY WORK GOOD FOR ME NOT TRIED THIS SHADE
ReplyDeleteWell, everybody has different preferences for lipstick textures. I personally did not like the texture of this lipstick but I will try some more to see if they are the same in quality. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteOh that's so unfortunate, I hate when lipsticks settle into the fine lines of your lips- that happens to me so often. I often find that those matte, magenta'esque shades really don't work for me either.

Yes, dark shades often don't work out really well. Thanks for stopping by. :)
