Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – Is the Hype Fair?

By Chaste & Beautiful - Friday, June 09, 2017

Deliberately staying away from the Internet is like punishing myself but I had to do it because I had a shitload of preparations to do for my exams. However, now I’m free and practically exempt from my busy schedule. Summer is full-blown thriving and fasting is getting tougher day by day, though I am tremendously thankful for yesterday’s rain that really lightened the mood of everyone in my family.

Now, I’m sitting at my laptop with my face smeared in clay mask and enjoying a bit of blogging. Today, I’ll be weighing the pros and cons of Maybelline Fit Me Foundation (dewy one) which I also reviewed in my Instastory. If any of you guys watched it – that’s great but if you missed it, then simply read this version to get the gist of things.

Price and Packaging

I bought this foundation for 1199 PKR from Al Fatah. You can get this online from portals like daraz.pk, just4girls.pk and reforma.pk. International users should check out, Maybelline.com, Ulta.com, Target, Boots, Superdrug and Walmart. You should be mindful of the dry and oily skin version before buying the foundation.

The packaging is nothing fancy, though they’ve certainly updated the older bottle to this new one with more labels. I got the dewy version for dry/normal skin in shade “120 Classic Ivory.”  I am really glad that Fit Me foundation comes with a pump, which makes the application less messy. It is a typical 30 ml glass bottle with a black cap.

My Story

I must mention before beginning with the review that Fit Me Foundation was one of my first drugstore foundation pick ever. I still remember I bought it in 2014 when it freshly graced the makeup aisles of Al Fatah and back then, it only cost me 795 PKR and there was no type for oily skin. There was only one Fit Me and that was for dry skins. The Fit Me foundation did get huge good raves from popular bloggers but some were disappointed at the luminosity of the foundation and wished for a matte version. Now, Maybelline has updated Fit Me and come out with a matte version too – though I must say the formula of the dewy version remains the same comparing to the old one.

“I still have the review of the old version of Fit Me published on my blog but back then, I was an amateur blogger and got sweaty hands just having the thought of reviewing a foundation, so, I wouldn’t recommend you to read the old review. Instead, read this one because I’ve certainly grown in terms of analyzing and reviewing products. I must not forget to include here that Huda Kattan, the most famous beauty guru actually placed Fit Me foundation in top 5 foundation’s list and called it the most natural foundation ever."

Consistency/Texture and Scent

It has a watery consistency which allows it to glide on the skin easily and it does settle beautifully on the skin. I’ve often noticed that dewier foundations are thinner in consistency and matte ones are apparently thicker, so if you need a lovely, glowing complexion, a light-textured foundation like Fit Me will be your best bet.

It has a pleasant floral scent that fades away after application.

My Thoughts

The Fit Me foundation had my heart in 2014 and it still is one of the best drugstore foundations I’ve tried. Many of you with oily skins will not agree with me and I totally understand but for me, this foundation holds a special place because it made me knowledgeable in the field of knowing what should be actually expected from a product, particularly a foundation.

It is still low cost compared to other drugstore foundations and it doesn’t hinge back on quality, blendability, longevity and the final outcome. It does stay for a good amount of time on my face but if you have normal skin, it might slip away quite quickly. It lets my skin peek through, providing a natural finish which I look forward to in foundations – I’ve never liked hiding all of my skin imperfections and a very less amount is used to cover my entire face.

I ditched the older version because it was tad peachy and made me look overly tanned but the shade “120” is perfect for my complexion. Overall, I am very happy with this foundation and the new shade.

Recommendation

If you want a luminous complexion, this foundation will suit you a lot.

Would I Repurchase

Yes, once this finishes.

  1. I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It's my go to. I also love it on my clients for party makeover. It looks so natural and smooth. Compares to most high end foundations, honestly.

    1. Well, I must say the same for Rimmel foundations. I first like them, after a couple of weeks I hate them - they also can't seem to work for me. If you have dry skin, Fit Me might work for you. It all depends on the skin tone and your preference. Thank you for stopping by. :)

  5. I've never had a Maybelline foundation but I do have their Fit Me Concealers, which is among my favourite! If it is similar to the concealer, then I think I'd love the foundation!
