Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks – Worth it?

By Chaste & Beautiful - Friday, March 24, 2017

Hello readers,

Today was my birthday! At first, I was pretty morose about it, since I’ve officially hit 21 and I don’t like growing up, rather, to put into correct words, “I hate it.” But then, I have to accept this life and the fact that this cycle keeps movin’ on. However, I’m very happy that some of my friends on IG were a great help to me and supported me throughout the day. I will put up a complete Birthday post with details of the gifts I received, later. However, if you think that you missed on the updates of my B’day, click here. As for tonight, I’m going to talk about these Wet n Wild Liquid Lipsticks that I purchased a few weeks back.

Price, Availability, & Packaging

I bought these from Beautybar.pk for PKR 950 each. However, you can get them from Daraz.pk as well for a similar price tag but I’m afraid the shade “Give me Mocha” is not present there.

I am seriously impressed with the packaging of these liquid lipsticks. It looks similar to the Jeffree Star ones but I don’t own the aforementioned ones, so can’t compare. But I must say I’m a huge fan of such fat and petite looking bottles.

Shade, Texture, & Consistency

Luckily, I got to grab two of the most famous shades of this Wet n Wild Matte Liquid Lipstick range, “Rebel Rose,” and “Give me Mocha.” In the beginning, I wasn’t quite taken by Rebel Rose, even though it is a very popular shade. But that were only the first impressions. When I tried “Rebel Rose” with a proper brown lip liner, the results were absolutely amazing, naturally pouty lips. I have completely fallen head over heels in love with both the shades.

Rebel Rose: It is a mauve, dull pink shade with hints of brown in it. Totally gorgeous for daily wear!

Give Me Mocha: This is a stunning brick red shade but with a more taupe hue to it. A perfect eye-candy!

In the past, my experience with Wet n Wild hadn’t gone well and I was doubtful to try these lippies. Hence, after trying these, my doubts somewhat vanished and I’m really impressed with the formula. The consistency is medium and the lipstick glides on effortlessly. Though, if you want a really planed appearance, exfoliation and a lip balm underneath is a must. These take nearly seconds to dry, yet give you enough time to properly coat your lips. The texture isn’t drying at all, though at the end of the day you might feel irritated at the feel of this lipstick, “which happened in my case.” Not much of a biggie, though!

Scent, Staying Power, & Wand

It doesn’t have a very noticeable scent and wouldn’t be a turn off for anyone. As for longevity, it’s okayish, since, after a heavy, oily meal, the color looked faded, especially from the inner rims of my lips, “which always calls for a quick swipe to freshen the color.” In some cases, the staying power was good but sometimes, it was a meh! I can’t really put a finger whether it has a nice staying power or not, overall, I’m not much bothered!

Oooh, the doe foot applicator is just superb. It’s easy to work with and helps to line the lips or go a tad more overboard effectively. A thumbs up for the packaging!

My Thoughts

These shades are much pigmented and a single coat provides a very opaque coverage, though I do feel the need to do a second coat, just for a fair distribution. They dry down to a perfect matte texture, do not crumble, neither flake off, plus get removed nicely with a good makeup remover. To be exact, I love these liquid lipsticks and I think they are worth the bucks!

Recommendation

Yes, If you are on the lookout for a great liquid lipstick, this is a must have!

Would You Repurchase?

I had my eyes on “Nudist Peach” but heard that it was patchy, so ignored it. But I think I will opt for these shades again, once they finish and “Berry Recognize” too.

Have you tried these Liquid Lipsticks?
