Review // Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation by Rimmel!

By Chaste & Beautiful - Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Hiya,

Surprise, surprise! I’m back with you beauties, to share another product, which was bought by me during the marriage of my cousin, this past April. The story behind this purchase is quite interesting. My brother knew about my motives, before we went for shopping. He specifically asked my mother not to spend a penny on my whims because we had a quarrel earlier on. But my sweet mom bought it, because I had spotted the orange cap after 2 years of thorough search and she understands my obsession.

Till date, my bro doesn’t even know of this procurement, hehehe! Why are brothers like that? Well, this isn’t the topic of my post today, so we can leave this combined misery aside and focus on the foundation instead that turned my attendance to the marriage ceremony, into a success. It was actually strongly suggested by Zoella in one of her videos and had been on my wish list, long since. Let me dig deeper and relate more to you about it.

Price, Packaging & Purchase

Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation by Rimmel cost me PKR: 1650 from Al-Fatah, in the shade 100 Ivory. It is an ordinary, transparent glass bottle with an orange cap, and the quantity of the product is 30ml. The nozzle is helpful in getting out a decent, non-messy spray of medium thick liquid onto your brush or hand. The bottle is lightweight and travel-friendly, though the cap doesn’t get secured tightly.

Consistency, Company Claims & Odor

1. This foundation is thick but smooth in texture, neither drying nor moisturizing. It is available in just four shades and in my opinion this is a huge hitch in this product’s life.

2. Numerous ladies won’t be able to benefit from this beauty only because of the absence of more suitable shades. The shade I’ve bought is neutral toned. Although, I prefer yellow-toned bases, but in this case, the yellow-toned ones were dark for my complexion.

3. The company Rimmel claims, it is a skin brightening, SPF15 foundation. The info on the back of the packaging is so tiny that you would require a microscope to read the illegible print. Good news that would source out a cheer from all the gals is its smell, it is light and sweet, and doesn’t bother at all.

My Thoughts

Considering my thoughts would be a bit lengthy and might end up in boring you out of my blog, I’ve listed all the points for a quick scan.

1.   The longevity is remarkably good and it stays fresh up to 6-8 hours, without much oxidization.

2.  It is a light-medium coverage foundation that is buildable and provides a rather semi-matte finish.

3.    The blending is smooth, hassle-free and easy. Though do give it time to settle down, about 10-15 minutes would be enough to make your skin look even, glossy and flawless.

4.    As time passes, the true beauty of the foundation begins to emanate and your face starts to illuminate, imparting an air-brushed feel.

5.    True to its name and claim, this base does provide you with an awakened and active appearance and that’s what I love the most about it.

6.    Don’t get scared right after the application, it might show a white cast but that is just a temporary phase. Let it pass and then scrutinize the outcome!

7.    If you are dry-skinned, it is better to moisturize your face first, or it might look dry. I’ve got dry skin too and it clings to my dry patches but after a short interval, the layer settles down into a pore-less finish.

8.  It is an excellent foundation, but the price is much high. ‘Fit Me’ foundation is regarded as one of the best drugstore foundations, yet it costs only PKR: 1050. You can read the full review here.

9.     Oily skins will love it and it’ll be more appropriate for them in my opinion. However, dry skins shouldn’t worry either, they can equally benefit from it.

10.  If you haven’t tried it yet, remember it and do go for it as soon as you can. It will never disappoint you.

Would I Repurchase?

Sure short! I love it.

  10. Love the way you have put in pointers in review. About the white caste, have you noticed it in flash photography? Because using it on big events and getting photographed like a ghost ia my biggest fear

    1. Thank you Sherry, I would try to put "my thoughts" in pointers again. :) Okay, as for the white cast, it just only occurs when you apply it but after a while it adjusts into the skin beautifully and then one can't detect the white cast. Yes, I have sampled this with flash photography and the pics came out normal, nothing shocking. Thanks for stopping by and I hope my answer was satisfying. :)

  14. I often come across skin care products that say anti-stress and now this one says anti-fatigue but I'm always unsure whether they really work. I have an anti-stress cream by a popular brand but I can't understand how it's anti-stress.
