Review // ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Bumble’ and Lippie Stix in ‘Brink’!

By Chaste & Beautiful - Sunday, May 15, 2016

Hiya,

ColourPop cosmetics need no introduction. We all have been in awe ever since its launch and girls have by now made a handsome collection of the entire range of its products available. The quality along with reasonable pricing has indeed taken the females by storm and then they keep emerging with more and more of such fanciful and lucrative shades that one simply can’t remain unstirred by the utter beauty of ColorPop inventions. They are making a huge investment now by creating Kylie Jenner Lip Kit too.

Since, I’m a human too and on top of that, a girl who happens to like, no love makeup, I couldn’t resist the ColorPop lippies either and bought two from their expansive range, which is so minute that I have promised myself to amplify the size of my collection as soon as I can. These are by far the most adorable and worthwhile products in my entire makeup stash. So, let’s get down to the detailed review.

Purchase and Pricing

There are 2 colors in the lippie range of ColourPop that are usually hard to get, as they remain out of stock due to their unique shades. However, one day, just by chance I happened to come across both of these shades on Daraz.pk. I bought ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in the shade ‘Bumble’ and ColourPop Lippie Stix in shade ‘Brink.’ Both were available at the price of PKR 1200 each, which is more than many other online shops but I had to get my hands on these, so I gulped down the price with huge triumph.

Packaging and Quantity

1. Packaging of the liquid lippie ‘Bumble’ resembles Essence lip-gloss and Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick packaging, so it is not something unique. As you can see in the pictures, this liquid lipstick is in a transparent tube, comes with a wand and the product inside is quite a lot, i.e. 3.2 gm.

2. Whereas, the packaging of lippie stix ‘Brink’ is much better and attractive too. The crayon is in a white plastic tube just like a pen or marker and has normal weight of 1.0 gm. It has a slanted nozzle, so it is comfy enough to wear.

My Thoughts on ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Bumble’

Officially speaking this is my very first proper liquid lipstick that is a dream to own, wear and grow a collection of. The color dusty warm terracotta ‘Bumble’ that you can see in swatches is endearing, such a distinct shade that you can’t get enough of it. After using it, I fully understood the rave behind it, because you can use this color on any event, whether it is a party or simple every day wear; it never disappoints and is the go to color for every complexion, minus any chipping.

The long staying power, its non-transferability, undetectable smell and the finish, is to die for. The instant you put it on your lips, it begins to turn matte without settling into fine lines and within seconds you are left with the most awesome lips, ever possible. No hint of a stain transfer or fading is visible; just be a little careful while applying because it is after all a liquid lipstick that dries out quickly. But don’t get me wrong here, it does not leave any dry impact or doesn’t even let you feel dry lipped. Best option for summer too and if you exfoliate your lips and use lip-balm before application, it’s all the better.

My Thoughts on ColourPop Lippie Stix in ‘Brink’

This buddy is a lip crayon actually that is creamy matte with an annoying plastic-y smell. Although, it vanishes after application, thank God! The color is awesome, and can be worn on any occasion. Staying power is quite good considering it is a crayon with a creamy formula and the warm dusty taupe ‘Brink’ in a matte finish, beautifies the lips by enhancing them more. It glides on smoothly and can be worn in summer too but keep it refrigerated or it might get melted. However, it does transfer but not much and fades evenly. You’ll love the quality of the formula and the shade on your pout. I won’t actually recommend it to the dark beauties though.

Recommendation

Oh for sure yes, if you haven’t bought them yet, you are missing big time. Get them pronto!

Would I Repurchase

You just don’t know yet how much I’m after more of these beauties. Rather, I’ll welcome your suggestions too regarding the immense color range they have, since it gets so confusing while picking out the best shades. I wish I had more money to hoard the whole stock.

At the end, I would just say, I still feel I haven’t done ample justice to the sheer class these lippies hold.

  12. I've always really want to try purchasing the colour pop lippies. I have most of the Kylie Lip Kits but the colour pop ones come in way more colours and are cheaper! Shipping down to Australia is just really expensive though! :(

Thanks for sharing this post though!
