Review // Oriflame Pressed Powder in ‘Light’

By Chaste & Beautiful - Wednesday, December 30, 2015

It seems like ages have gone by without seeing you all. I know my busy schedule is making me neglect my blog, but today at last, I took out time especially for this post. And after this one, I’ll be posting about my monthly and yearly favorites too.

So, winter is in full swing along with all the winter activities and I have been trying out a few makeup looks too, just to revel in this carousal weather.

I normally don’t use a face-powder at all, and specifically never felt the need for it in winter, but my mom needed one and we purchased the Oriflame Pressed Powder from Just4Girls.pk It is available in two shades, ‘Light Medium’ and ‘Light.’ We bought the ‘Light’ version. This review is based on my mom’s opinions about this product because I don’t think I would be able to do justice to something which I don’t personally use, since I possess dry skin.

Price:

The price is very reasonable, only PKR 399, for a whopping 20 gms. You can buy it here.

Packaging:

The packaging is nothing distinctive. It is a black plastic, round-shaped container with black lid that easily slides off too. This means it is not so travel-friendly. However, if you keep the card paper cover intact that comes with it, you can slip in the container, and this thing won’t budge. The lid also has a mirror and a thin puff, which are quite handy, especially if you are out of your home and in need of a quick retouch. Although, you won’t find the puff much comfortable to use.

Scent:

There is a slight scent that we can normally associate to face-powders, but it is not very over-whelming. Still, I am not sure how sensitive nosed people would react towards it.

Claims:

Oriflame claims that this pressed powder is fragrant and extra smooth for everyday use.

My Mom’s Thoughts:

The powder is not remarkable in performance but good enough in the given price. It certainly keeps the skin shine-free for 5-6 hours in summer, and considering my mom’s skin which is quite oily, it did serve its purpose well. The coverage is good, doesn’t hide anything but lessens the pores and the overall effect is an even looking skin. The scent is also bearable and disappears after a few minutes anyway.

My Thoughts:

I won’t recommend it to dry skins because when I used it on my face, I looked totally washed out. Then, the shades are not enough and the lighter skinned beauties would not be able to get their desired color. Yet, I would like to praise the quality, which isn’t bad at all. I’d rate it as 3/5.

Recommendation:

I would recommend it to all, but it’s clearly not for the dry skinned ladies. I didn’t try it on a moisturizer or foundation, but in that case, it might work for dry skins too.

Would I Repurchase?

To be honest, it is not impressive enough to be repurchased, but if you want an inexpensive, good quality face-powder that contains ample amount of product too, this is surely for you. I would like to try out ‘Stay Matte’ or’ Fit Me’ face-powders now, something that suits my skin better.

Have you tried this face-powder or anything else from this brand?

  3. I have used Oriflame's pressed powder, but I guess it was another version of it or may be I bought the medium shade. I agree with you, it's not too impressive to make a second purchase. I have it, so I use it only when I run out of my face powder or simply get bored of using my frequently worn powders.
