Review || Beauty UK Lip Matter Velvet Matte Lip Cream!

By Chaste & Beautiful - Friday, June 30, 2017

Hello Peeps,

I hope you all had a wonderful Ramazan and Eid. I was pretty conked out the entire Ramazan, so blogging was far from my mind. Friday’s hint at my Freelance clients being officially away for the weekend, that’s why today was the perfect opportunity to write a review. I’m going to discuss the pros and cons of Beauty UK Lip Matter Velvet Matte Lip Cream. This has been on my wish list for a long time, thankfully I managed to add it to my basket before Eid.

Price, Availability & Packaging

I bought this lip product for 550 PKR from Enem Store, Lahore. The shade is called “Wham Bam Thank You Jam (Quite a fun name, to be honest!) I really like the packaging. It’s simple, convenient, and very neat-looking. I appreciate that the color of the tube mimics the lip shade contained inside, plus it is a nice product for traveling.

You can buy this product online from beautybar.pk and just4girls.pk. International buyers should check out beautyuk-cosmetics.com and amazon.com.

Texture, Consistency & Color

I have never tried a velvet-esque lip product before, though I’ve read plenty about it, especially about Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks. The lip cream is thick and quite powdery in consistency – you cannot call it a liquid lipstick, it is a cream indeed. The color is shocking pink. At first, I was quite daunted by it, since, I’ve abandoned wearing such shades and always opt for nude colors. But this color was a refreshing change and seemed impeccable for the look I wanted to achieve on Eid Day 1.

Scent

The smell is very good – almost like a sweet candy but it might be powerful for sensitive noses, so do test the scent personally before buying this product.

My Thoughts

This lippie applies like a thick cream and dries down within seconds into a velvet, slightly powdery finish. However, it does not emphasize my lip lines at all, even if my lips are dry. It makes the lips very pouty, buffed and fulsome. At first, I thought this product might look dry on my lips because of the label “velvet” but it’s quite the opposite and makes lips look healthy.

It is comfortable to wear and stays put for a long time, but you may be able to smudge it if you are not careful. One thing I love about this lip cream is that it doesn’t chip off and stains the lips, instead of fading away by gathering around the lips in the most heinous way possible. I would give a big thumbs up to this product. It is a great budget-friendly buy! Though, I wish that Beauty UK comes with neutral shades for this lip matter range because there are only brights available.

Recommendation

Yes, this is a wonderful matte lip cream for everyone.

Would I Repurchase

Nope, not this shade. I’m planning to buy “Bond, Mrs. Bond” in this range.
